Availability, being available to your spouse when he or she needs and /or wants you.     No husband or wife can meet all of their partner’s needs, but whenever possible be responsive and available when he or she asks for you or your help.  Below are situations where your availability to your partner will assist you in living life passionately ever after.

• When your partner’s work schedule demands an unexpected stay at the office, pick up the slack with the kids and dinner.

• When your partner returns to her car only to find a flat tire, leave what you are doing and go help her or get help to her quickly.

• When your partner’s career search is still stalled, be an encourager and supporter.

• When your partner roles over during the night seeking you sexually, be available and willing to satisfy him or her (and yourself!).

• If your partner wakes up at 3AM, needing to talk, wake up and process his or her stressor until he/she wants to stop.  (Even if it takes an hour or two!)

• When your partner wants to do something recreational, go and make it fun.

• When your partner is sharing an emotional hurt, listen, without being defensive, validate what you hear and offer your support.

• When your partner asks for a commitment to healthy change and you agree…follow through in a timely fashion.

• If your partner’s career offers a financially lucrative promotion requiring a move, be willing to move your career.

• Make you husband/wife the number one priority in your life (even above the kids) and let your actions leave no doubt.

So often, complacency and pride rob our relationship of real passion.  Life is not a dress rehearsal!  Be available for your partner, anyplace and anytime.  You will live and love life passionately ever after.
